Do this outside the app. Go to your iPhone settings and scroll down to EssentialOils in your list of apps. Select it. Enter your name, email and rep ID (if you have one).

Is the app available for iPad?

Yes it is. The app is listed under iPhone but not under iPad apps in the app store and people might assume it can’t be used on iPad, but you can. You can download the iphone app to your ipad and it will work fine. For us to list the app under iPad, it has to be “optimized” for iPad with greater graphics. Well, we’re not using pictures in the app so the only time you notice is if our opening picture of the lavender field is full size it’s not as sharp.

Is the app available for Android?

How do I create a recipe?

Choose Recipes. At top of screen choose the “+” button to add a new recipe. Enter info about recipe (name is of recipe – designer is where you put your name). The Description and Notes fields are searchable so you may put any information or keywords you may want to search on later in the notes field.

Add Oil Ingredient will allow you to add essential oils to this recipe. You will add the carrier when you make a Formulation.

Add Formulation will allow you to choose a method of use, recommended container and will have your recipe/blend of oils listed as the first ingredient and then you add your carrier and appropriate amounts.

Save each screen as you complete it. You may share your recipes that you have entered with others who have the Essential Oils app via Bluetooth.

How do I download recipes?

Tap the Other tab at bottom of screen. At the very top is a button with a “price tag” on it – select the button. You will see a list of available items to purchase.

Tap on the Recipe Pack title to get a full description. Return to In-App Purchases and select Buy for the Pack you want. Confirm and purchase. A check mark will appear next to the Recipe Pack indicating that it has been purchased.

Recipes will appear in your Recipes list (on the More tab). Purchased recipes are indicated by a little shopping cart. You may edit the recipe to add your own notes or additional formulations. You are NOT able to share purchased recipes. You may only share recipes you have entered yourself.

NOTE: The complete Stillroom Collection includes all the listed (as of May 1, 2013) Stillroom recipe packs. You do NOT need to purchase the individual packs if you have the Complete Stillroom Collection. You will end up with duplicates. New recipe packs may come available in the future, but will not be of the Stillroom collection.

How do I add to my essential oil inventory?

Go to Oils tab. Select the oil that you want to add to your inventory. At the top of the screen, select the Edit button. Under My Inventory change On Hand? from No to Yes. Change ML on Hand to the size bottle you have. To keep more accurate inventory, you may reduce the ML on Hand as you use your oils. Keep in mind it is approximately 10 drops per ML. Some find it easier to just add to the Wish List when it is getting low.

How do I email my Wish List?

Go to Oils tab. Select Wish List from bottom. Select icon in upper right corner that looks like pen and paper. You will see the email, you just need to put in an address to mail it to. I send it to myself so that when I am on my computer placing my order I have the list right there with the names and item numbers.

What options do I have for searching in Oils?

Go to Oils tab. Tap in Search box. Just under the search box, you will see three options: Name, Description and Notes. Nice thing about this is that you can add your own notes to an oil, such as information you learn in a workshop or other source, and later search on your own keywords or comments rather than having to flip through pages of notes on paper looking for that one nugget of info you need right now.

Choose which option you want to search and enter the key word(s) in the search field. As you type more characters, the list will get shorter until you find the one you want. Depending on the search, you could have one to many results.

What is the difference between Methods and Categories on the Applications tab?

Categories refer to specific areas or systems of the body or environment that the properties of the oil are most suited to such as Digestive, Memory, Home, etc.

What is the difference between a Suggested Use and a Recipe?

They are very similar. However, while the Suggested Uses in the app contain a lot of great information, they are more general and do not have option for adding user notes or formulations.

Recipes in the app are more specific as to the amounts, carrier and suggested application(s). Recipes also allow the user to add their own notes and formulations whether they created the recipe or received it through sharing or download. They can be as basic as a “suggested use” or a complicated blend with several oils and one to many carrier ingredients and/or formulations.
